Kimberly Vincent-Layton, Instructional Designer, College of eLearning
Lecturer, Department of Communication
I enjoy creating engaging learning activities supported by modern technologies, as well as coordinating faculty development efforts. I have had my fingers (and toes) in the world of learning with technology since I got hooked on playing “space invaders” on my dad’s Apple I computer back in the late 70s. Since then, I dove right in and have continued to immerse myself in technologies of all kinds. I have enjoyed facilitating a variety of workshops and faculty learning communities, including the recent Faculty Learning Community on mLearning in Spring 2014. I am on the constant look out for exploring free web tools to support student learning.
My education background includes studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the University of California, San Diego, and receiving a Bachelor’s in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and a Master’s in Business Administration both from Humboldt State University. I also received a Certificate for Faculty Preparation in Higher Education in 2012, and a SLOAN-C Mobile Learning Mastery Series Certificate in 2013.
